Associate Professor

Vita

Ginna Husting earned her PhD in sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research spans sociology, cultural studies, and feminist theories. Her most recent work examines how the phrase "conspiracy theorist" works in the context of political speech as a means of interactional degradation and exclusion from the sphere of "reasonable interlocutors." She has published articles with Leslie King of Smith College on French and American nationalism in the context of abortion-related protest and RU-486. Her other work focuses on media representations of social protest and their implications for democratic political action.

Dr. Husting teaches a number of courses at Boise State, many of them cross-listed with Gender Studies.
